Festival Suburb’s Narration

L’Arte Contemporanea crea bellezza e riempie vuoti urbani rendendoli luoghi di comunità possibili, ne diventa parte integrante nella seconda edizione di un festival incentrato sulla riscoperta del Quartiere Soccorso di Prato. Le residenze artistiche curate da Stefania Rinaldi hanno portato il quartiere a raccontare se stesso e ripensarsi. Gli scatti di M.Tonioni hanno indagato i luoghi e gli abitanti storici e i nuovi cittadini esposte in grandi installazioni diffuse invitando lo spettatore a camminare e osservare, così come il lavoro dei giovani creativi guidati dall’illustratrice Laura La Came, chiamati al vagabondare urbano ricalcando la figura del flaneur. L’intervento di illuminazione animata/Animation Lights Project di E. Degl’Innocenti con MBVision ha stimolato la memoria collettiva nella restituzione della funzione originale all’ex cinema di quartiere inattivo e chiuso da circa 15 anni che torna a nuova vita, in collaborazione con professionisti quali il videomaker A. Foligni, il sound designer A. Dufur, il fotografo S. Ridi. L’associazione Riciclidea e il comitato di riqualificazione del Soccorso creano il nucleo di cittadinanza attiva che permette dialoghi e attiva narrazioni, coinvolgendo le scuole di quartiere e i suoi abitanti.

 Festival Suburb’s Narration

Contemporary Art creates beauty and fills urban voids, transforming them into possible community places; it became an integral part of the second edition of a festival focused on the rediscovery of the Soccorso neighborhood in Prato. The artistic residencies curated by Stefania Rinaldi helped the neighborhood to tell about itself and rethink itself. M.Tonioni’s shots inquired about the places and the historical and new residents. They were exposed in large diffused installations inviting the viewers to walk around and observe, as well as the work of young creatives led by the illustrator Laura La Came, called to the urban wandering, retraced the figure of the flaneur. E. Degl’Innocenti’s Animation Lights Project with MBVision has stimulated the collective memory bringing back to life the neighborhood cinema, that had been closed for about 15 years, in collaboration with professionals such as videomaker A. Foligni, sound designer A. Dufur, and photographer S. Ridi. Riciclidea association and Soccorso neighborhood Redevelopment Committee created the focus point of active citizenship that enabled dialogues and narrations, involving the neighborhood schools and its residents.
