Agonia dell’Identità

“Se trovi 14 minuti per stare con te stesso una volta al mese, la prossima volta che lo farai pensa a questo momento. Altrimenti puoi farlo adesso e sederti qui per 14 minuti.” Questo è l’invito rivolto dall’artista a chiunque lo incontri durante la sua permanenza nel quartiere. La partecipazione viene chiesta in forma scritta con un cartello esposto alla lettura e non pronunciata, con la presenza dell’artista a lavoro come azione performativa di resilienza. L’artista vive il luogo utilizzando la meditazione come lettura e invita l’altro a fare lo stesso, cercando una visione diversa che possa essere slegata dalla prima impressione per lasciare spazio ad un sentire lento che possa svelare altre identità dello spazio.

The Agony of Identity

“If once a month you take 14 minutes for yourself, the next time you do it, think about this moment. Otherwise, you can take your time now and sit here for 14 minutes.” It was the artist’s invitation to anyone who would meet him during his stay in the neighborhood. Not a spoken but a written invitation to participate, while the artist, at work, was performing an action of resilience.

The artist experienced the spot using meditation as a reading and invited anybody else to do the same, searching for a different sight that might be released from the first impression to leave space for a slow feeling that might reveal other identities of the place.
